Try pressing the pressing the down button again and see if the light goes out or raise then lower the roof again. I can well believe it's a BMW fault - could be a ECU fault which may require reprogramming when BMW finally find the solution - will be warranty work though so I wouldn't worry about that. To to verify this is the problem, just jumper the two pins in the connector and attempt to open the top. It should now work. Now you have three options. 1. Leave the jumper in and put everything back into place. 2. Attempt to reattach the wiper arm. This may stay in place or it may not. It depends on how bent it is.
1. Windows rescind. 2. Motor runs but the hooks do not move to fully close the top. 3. The hex pin on the motor rotates fast in the counter clockwise direction and moves up and out of it's socket. 4. The red light on the switch remains the same red blinking and does not change.
When I press the window switch up and down I hear some electrical activity at the switch but nothing in the door. The drivers door control buttons are all illuminated and all other windows work fine. I tried the courtesy down function with the key in the door lock and all windows responded as usual except for the driver's side. I remained closed.
Roof not working, flashing red light. Left work put the roof down as normal and enjoyed the drive home, when i pressed the roof up button all i got was a flashing red light, had to pull the red cable and get my brother to help lift the roof up and lock it down. I would like the motor (if fixable, new if not) moved into the boot, I'm in Suffolk
Dec 15, 2019. #8. This is common and can be down to a number of things :-. 1) There is something obstructing the roof from completely folding down. - Silly I know but you'd be surprised at the amount of objects I've found lost around the corners of roofs when relocating the motors.
Unscrew the plug with an allen wrench and fill to appropriate level with hydraulic fluid. Replace cap and then turn T-handle clockwise and secure tightly. If tank was completely empty, it will take a few lifts back and forth of the top with button to build up good pressure. Thank goodness it is a cheap and easy fix.
Well, my missus's Z4 succumbed to the renowned roof motor failure last week. Windows drop, roof unlatches then nothing. So I set about a repair and decided to photograph what I did to get it, not only working, but relocated as well. The main problem with the Z4 roof motor is its location. The
